Car-less in Vauban

Linked below is an article about a town in Germany that has gone completely green and almost totally car-less, an idea whose time has come, if you ask me. Of course, you probably didn't ask me, but oh well. It's still an interesting concept. What's rather silly are the ordinances in the U.S. that require builders to build for two car spaces per dwelling. Seems like they could accommodate a company whose concept is designed for people not having and using cars.
